See how our Garden Grows...
July 21, 2009. The homeless shelter garden, otherwise known as the "Love Garden" is thriving and helping to feed those in need. Here's what was picked yesterday...a bounty of cucumbers and squash!


Join Us June 13th for the kick off of
KIDS HELPING KIDS!
Kids are invited to help The Salvation Army raise money to send local disadvantaged children to camp as well help defray the costs of our summer day camp program. Our kettles, which are traditionally seen only during the holidays are making their summertime debut to help raise money for our Kids 2 Kamp program.
Kick Off Meeting and pick up of Kettles
Saturday, June 13th from 8am until 10am
The Salvation Army Community Center, 220 E. Russell St.
Join us for Krispy Kreme doughnuts and juice as we kick off this
one week fundraiser!
Each participating child receives :
- One kettle to collect donations…get creative! Ask family and friends, ask a store for permission to set up for a few hours, host a lemonade stand or yard sale! (Please have an adult with you at all time!)
- One ID badge “Salvation Army Kids Helping Kids Official Fundraiser”
- Information explaining The Salvation Army Kids 2 Kamp program
- Ideas to help you collect the most money for the cause!
Wrap Up Meeting/ Awards
Saturday, June 20th from 4-6pm
The Salvation Army Community Center, 220 E. Russell Street
Join us for hotdogs, popcorn and fun as we collect the kettles and announce winners of our 1st Annual Kids Helping Kids Kettle Campaign!
TROPHIES PROVIDED TO WINNERS!!
EVERYONE RECEIVES A CERTIFICATE!
DOOR PRIZES DONATED BY LOCAL BUSINESSES!
All kettles need to be turned in by Saturday, June 20th at 5pm to qualify for prizes!

Lunch AND DINNER Served Daily...Everyday at noon and 5pm our shelter on Alexander Street in Fayetteville opens to anyone in need of a hot meal. For some, this is the only meal they will eat all day. UPDATED!! Salvation Army Wish List....We are always in need of donations. Here is a small list of items that are needed currently:
- Paper supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, disposable plates and cups
- Cleaning supplies including bleach, all purpose cleaner, hand soap, laundry detergent, and window cleaner
- Approximately 3800 sq ft of carpeting for gym (turning 1/2 into a rec area for kids)
- games for community center for kids in summer camp and after school program
